Thai, some English. Low number of respondents that are proficient in English; mostly preferred to converse in Thai. Although given the offer of incentive, some people at times will over-claim their English proficiency during registration – hence the need for double verification.

High speed internet in general is widely available and somewhat stable. Thai respondents in general are very digital savvy; mostly own smartphones/tablets. There is high usage of mobile-banking applications and digital-payments. Android is mostly used in this market so it is more difficult to recruit IOS users.
Tips for Recruiting Participants in Thailand
- We had difficulty recruiting people using NDID (National Digital ID) because this program have slow roll out, since the information is not well socialized to the public
- many people at times did not even realize they sign up for it, since sometimes the bank employees will be the one doing the NDID registration during their visit to the branch without telling them.
